With the idea to create something special and comfortable, Tony and Furtuna, owners of MAX 40, are the designers of this upscale, sophisticated place that yet has a very warm atmosphere. It is a very unique and trendy place for the Danbury area and the people seem to love it. MAX 40 has magnificent old wood ceilings and Murano chandeliers that indeed make MAX 40 a very unique place. The wood tables give you the feeling of comfort and with a service you cannot compare to any other place. MAX 40 has immediately become the restaurant of choice for all the Danbury area.
MAX 40 is open for lunch as well and is visited throughout the day. Night times are also very beautiful, with red candle lights and a projector showing movies in black and white. The rectangle bar is located in the middle of the dining room and is the best area for socializing.
The cream on the cake is the great food and service that you get. Some of the chefs and waiters have been with Tony for almost 25 years now, and this is one of the secrets to all this success.
Tony and Furtuna also own Portofino in Wilton, founded in 1988, as well as Spasi in Danbury. All the restaurants are decorated differently and have different layouts from one another, however the values and principles that guide them are all the same.
Serving fresh food, using fresh ingredients, presented and served well, and at an affordable price.
The cuisine is mainly continental, but has an American influence, and includes great steaks, fish, and homemade pastas and desserts. MAX 40 also offers the best burgers in town. That’s what our numbers tell us!
Behind all this success is the 30 years of experience that Tony brings with him. He has a great passion for the kitchen and the restaurant business. In addition to his experience he is very attentive to seminars and traveling throughout the world in his quest for always bringing more freshness and innovation to the kitchen and his restaurants.
